Total Visual Agent, by FMS
Inc., lets you easily specify the tasks, files, and when events
should execute. The hierarchical display makes it easy to
see your scheduled events, and what's assigned to them. |

Individual databases can be assigned with specific tasks to be
performed on the database. The new Task Group to an event,
and then assign a common set of tasks to be performed on

New Features for Total Visual Agent 2003!
Total Visual Agent Service:
Total Visual Agent 2003 includes the option to run the program as a
Windows NT Service. This service runs even without a user logged on
to the computer, providing increased security and automated restart
if the machine crashes. This feature has been requested over the
years, but it required the latest Microsoft technology to enable the
management of multiple Access security workgroups.
Support for Access 2003: Total
Visual Agent 2003 includes support for Microsoft Access 2003, plus
continued support for all previous versions of Access, Visual Basic,
and the Microsoft Jet Database Engine.
Once configured, Total
Visual Agent runs in the background using a minimal amount of system
resources while waiting for the next event. When the scheduled time
arrives, Total Visual Agent wakes up, performs the task, then goes
back to sleep to wait for the next scheduled time. If you do not
have tasks scheduled during the day, you don't even need a dedicated
machine. Just let Total Visual Agent run in the background and leave
your machine on when you go home!
Total Visual Agent lets you define and schedule
these tasks:
-
Database repair and compact
-
Database copy and zip backups
-
Data
extraction while users are in the database
-
Launch
Access and run a macro which can run your code
-
Collect database statistics like record counts to monitor usage
-
Run
any command line
Define Your Own Schedules
Total Visual Agent lets you schedule and
automatically perform these tasks multiple times per hour, once per
hour, daily, weekly, monthly, or at a specific time in the future.
Perform your tasks in the middle of the night! You can even back up
data while users are in the database (ideal for 24/7 environments)
or execute your own custom code such as printing reports or data
uploads and downloads.
Manage an Unlimited Number of Databases
Total Visual Agent can manage an unlimited number of
Microsoft Access/Jet Engine databases across your network. Simply
launch it from any PC that can see the databases. When the time
arrives, it performs its tasks, then goes back to "sleep" to await
the next event.
Total Visual Agent supports secured databases and
lets you assign the security workgroups, user name, and passwords
necessary to perform the tasks you need.
Manage individual databases or specify a directory
and manage all the databases within it and its subdirectories
automatically. You can also define a list of tasks in a Task Group
and assign databases or directories to it.
A Professional Solution
Total Visual Agent offers a professional solution to
ensure your Access/Jet databases perform optimally and are
administered properly.
A complete audit trail is maintained for every task
performed, and if an error occurs, an email is automatically sent to
alert the system administrator. System administrators will also
appreciate the ability to specify a cut-off time for tasks be
completed. This ensures that as your databases grow and your tasks
require more time to complete, Total Visual Agent never interferes
with your business needs and alerts you if it runs out of time to
finish.

you with the opportunity to evaluate the power of Total Visual
Agent. It is identical to the retail version, except for the
following limitations:

Above products support all versions of Access, JET and Visual
Basic
Total Visual Agent is licensed on a per installation basis. Each
installation can manage multiple databases across the entire network
(assuming the machine has sufficient rights).
A runtime version of Total Visual Agent is not available since it
cannot be bundled within an Access or VB application (like a
control). Total Visual Agent is a system administrative tool and
usually runs on a machine separate from the deployed applications.
Since it can manage databases across the entire network, its
usefulness goes well beyond your application.
Many developers and consultants, who need to bundle scheduled
database maintenance with their applications, purchase multi-license
copies of Total Visual Agent and resell it to their clients. |
